NATFHE eventsANNUAL NIACE & NATFHE CONFERENCETuesday 9 May 2006 NATFHE Conference Centre 27 Britannia Street London WC!X 9JP LLN tutors are increasingly using ICT to deliver their programmes: Is it a useful tool or just sugar-coating the pill? Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an increasing feature of literacy, language and numeracy teaching, as a tool for delivery, as a learning resource, and now as one of the Skills for Life. This conference aims to give practitioners an opportunity to consider all of these issues, focusing particularly on embedding literacy, language and numeracy within ICT Skill for Life. It will enable literacy, language and numeracy practitioners to become more familiar with the role that ICT and e-learning can play in their practice. There will be opportunities to get hands-on experience of a number of new learning materials and approaches, the chance to discuss the process of embedding with a college who has piloted the approach, and the keynote speaker will provide an update of current work on ICT Skill for Life. This conference will be of interest to literacy, language and numeracy practitioners, staff from colleges, Local authorities, voluntary and community organisations.
