About NATFHE

NATFHE tries to resolve members' problems in the first instance through representation and negotiation.

But when this approach to a problem connected with employment, professional duties and union activities has failed, members may be able to obtain legal help through NATFHE's excellent Legal Scheme, provided through a team of in-house solicitors and approved local solicitors. The union will decide when this is necessary; your first port of call is the regional office for an application form.

Whatever your problem is, don't wait too long before you try to sort it out; strictly-enforced time limits apply in many areas, and you should not let these run out before you take action.

You can download the Legal Scheme Regulations from this website as a Word document.

DIVIDER

NATFHE has arranged a number of other legal facilities to help members with problems outside their employment:

• Moving home? See NATFHE's Fixed Price Conveyancing Scheme and also the variety of mortgages on offer to members.

• If you've been libelled or slandered, NATFHE's Conditional Fee Agreement with solicitors Carter-Ruck offers a way to pursue your case.
