Representing members' views and interests to employers, politicians, opinion-formers and the public at large is a major part of NATFHE's work. Our Press Office persuades the media to report on NATFHE's views and activities, often providing background for features and interviewees. There's an index of this year's press releases here . NATFHE Publications keep members up-to-date with what's happening in their union, and promotes policy discussions and decisions. We organise events and conferences throughout the year, both on issues of specific interest to members in FE or HE and on broader subjects of interest to the whole union. Parliamentary work with politicians and civil servants in Britain and Europe influences legislation and raises issues of concern to NATFHE members. NATFHE mounts major campaigns from time to time, involving members and branches and seeking support for our objectives. Currently, we are campaigning to: improve pay and conditions in the UK's new universities raise FE salaries halt funding cuts in adult education improve the pay and conditions of hourly-paid academic staff in HE protect and improve pensions secure equal employment rights for agency lecturers
