Take a minute to sign up to fair funding.
NATFHE is one of a number of trade unions supporting the Association of Colleges’ two-pronged campaign for fairer funding for colleges.
The AoC has called on the government to:
close the shocking funding gap that exists between schools and colleges for 16-19-year-olds
appropriately fund adult learning.
The campaign highlights that schools are paid at least ten per cent more per student than colleges for providing the same courses. The average college loses at least £500,000 per year due to this gap.
It also highlights that current government plans for adult learning in England are forcing many colleges to cut courses and raise fees for learners. NATFHE is also concerned about job losses resulting from these cuts.
NATFHE members can sign the online petition or even better, link up to their college's website.
You could also download and print off the joint ACM, AoC, NATFHE and Unison petition on fair funding (Word document) and get as many members to sign up to as possible.
