Members voted by a margin of seven to one to accept the pay offer and launch the campaign. See press release HE PAY CLAIM 2005The joint academic unions submitted a detailed claim for 11.2% which included a 6% catch up element for the substantial slippage in comparative pay, including that identified by the Bett report and agreed universally by politicians and employers. We also sought increases in London weighting and improvements throughout the pay spine and at the top. The support staff unions submitted a parallel claim for a 'substantial' increase. The academic staff unions' claim can be downloaded as a Word document. See briefing on the 3% offer from the HEC Chair | Salary scales (Excel file)
